The time you will spend overseas will allow you to interact with students studying at one of Lancaster University’s partner institutes around the world. LUSU involve currently work with the following partners: GD Goenka World Institute in India, Sunway University in Malaysia, An-Najah Univeristy in Palestine, COMSATS in Pakistan and GuangDong University of Foreign Studies in China. Volunteering
The time you will spend volunteering will enable you to gain an insight into the culture and community of the country you choose to visit. You could spend time teaching children English, about blogging, your area of study. Alternatively, you could spend time creating a positive learning ebvironemnet for children, visiting women who have set up their own business in their community; or discovering the importance of environmental volunteering which could see you planting trees to save the country and world.
Business
Meet leaders in of business on a multi-national level adn the local tea man to understand the different languages of business around the world. Create you ‘little black book’ of contacts, or expand you facebook friends to give you the chance to widen your prospects and contacts for the future. Graduates now need to be more connected individuals and global thinkers – we can support you to develop yourselves in this way.
Understanding how politics work on a global scale can give you an insight into how you are affected in your daily lives by the decisions made in Asia and round the world. Gaining the chance to meet Members of Parliament and government officals can provide you with the opportunity to gain an in depth knowledge of a country’s future plans and visions – hope that throught this interaction you would become globally informed graduates with a more rounded view of the how the world works.
International Issues
To put yourself ahead of the game in the employability market we know that you need to increase the number of skills you have and how you perform as an employee – attending key note speaches and academic lectures on leading world issue will enable you to have an opinion on ‘hot topics’ and critical issues whcih will better help you to do your job as a graduate of Lancaster University.
Through these unique LUSU involve projects you will be immersed in a new, exciting and different culture. You will gain experience through volunteering on established projects, meeting with local government in your country of choice, networking with major corporate companies and learning about important international issues from leading academics.
