The Scouting Movement is recognised worldwide as one of the foremost organisations for young people. The purpose of scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving full physical, intellectual and social potential as responsible citizens and members of their local, national and international community. There are various roles available, depending on your experience, including Scout leader, assistant Scout leader or Troop assistant at a local group.

 

Volunteer Role
  • Helping to run weekly activities
Commitments
  • Attend all induction and training events
  • Attend placement one evening a week
  • Additional commitments for camps etc
  • Attend end of year plenary session
Impacts
  • Develop confidence and citizenship skills in young people
  • Work in the community inspiring young people
