Lancaster is great for cycling! It may rain every now and then and there is the odd hill, but it’s a great way to keep fit, get out and about and minimise the impact of local transport!

Green Lancaster helps to make it easier for Students and Staff at Lancaster University to access low cost bikes and accessories as well as maintenance advice and general cycling information. During term time, we offer regular bike sale events, usually taking place in Alexandra Square at the centre of the University.

Bike Sales taking place in Alexandra Square during Summer Term 2013:

Tuesday 18th June, 11:00 – 13:30

Free ‘Dr Bike’ service sessions are also available at most bike sale events. Our local expert cycle mechanic Colin Stones can usually be found surrounded by a sea of bikes. Please note that although Colin is an expert, his time is limited at these events, so the service includes safety checks, minor repairs and general advice. It may be that you’ll need to take your bike to a bike shop for new parts or a more detailed service following Colin’s advice.

The next Dr Bike service session will take place on Tuesday 18th June in Alexandra Square between 10:00 and 15:00.
